He died on 1 October 2008 in Aberdeen, Washington, USA.- From bringing characters to life on stage and appearing in hit television series, award-nominated actor Tunji Kasim has quickly made a name for himself in the entertainment industry as "one to watch," and he isn't slowing down anytime soon. This year, Tunji reprises his starring role as Ned 'Nick' Nickerson on The CW's hit supernatural thriller/drama series "Nancy Drew". Based on the iconic books created by publisher Edward L. Stratemeyer and written by a variety of authors under the pseudonym Carolyn Keene, the show follows brilliant teen sleuth Nancy Drew (Kennedy McMann) as she solves mysteries in her hometown of Horseshoe Bay, Maine. Tunji instantly became a fan favorite as Nick, a former teenage convict (also Nancy's ex-boyfriend) who is forced to confront his previous life in Florida, while working to help solve crimes alongside his new friends in Maine. Season three of "Nancy Drew" is slated to premiere on October 8, 2021.
Born in Aberdeen, Scotland, and raised in Nigeria until he was 12, Tunji is the youngest of three children. Having a Nigerian father, a Scottish mother and growing up in both countries, Tunji and his sisters were immersed in a rich, diverse, blended cultural experience. Upon moving back to Scotland as a pre-teen, Tunji enrolled in drama classes and began participating in local musicals and theatre. At 17 he was accepted into the prestigious Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow, and before he even graduated was cast in Michael Attenborough's Big White Fog at the Almeida Theatre in London, making his professional onstage debut. Arriving in London as a young man and being exposed to a melting pot of cultures and ethnicities from all walks of life, Tunji felt a surprising sense of relief. Growing up in Nigeria with a predominantly Black community and in contrast, moving to Scotland, which is largely white, arriving in London married multiple worlds together. For the first time, Tunji didn't feel out of place.
On stage, Tunji went on to star in The Brothers Size written by Oscar winner Tarell Alvin McCraney ("Moonlight") and directed by Bijan Sheibani. He was nominated for an Ian Charleston Award for starring in the Royal Shakespeare Company's production of Julius Caesar and went on to be in a handful of plays with the RSC, which brought him to New York City's Park Avenue Armory, marking his first time working in the United States. Additional theatre credits for Tunji include Network by Lee Hall (adapted from the 1976 film), Simon Godwin's Antony and Cleopatra, and Yael Farber's Les Blancs, all at the National Theatre. As well as David Farr's King Lear and Chris Luscombe's Much Ado about Nothing at the RSC. Film credits for Tunji include Bill Condon's "Good Liar," and Dan Krauss' "The Kill Team."
When he isn't on set, you can find Tunji barefoot-running, always setting a new physical challenge for himself. Last year he ran a sub-20-minute 5km, incorporating fundraising for Covenant House Vancouver, which provides support for at-risk street youth in the Vancouver B.C. area. This year he has challenged himself to run a total of 1000km. Tunji is also vegan and is passionate about living a life that excludes all forms of animal exploitation and cruelty, whether it be from food, clothing, and more. He has a huge place in his heart for giving back and has been active with a handful of organizations over the years. He currently splits his time between London and Vancouver, where he films "Nancy Drew." - Abigail Lawrie was born in 1997 in Aberdeen, Scotland, UK. Kurt Cobain was born on February 20 1967, in Aberdeen, Washington. Kurt and his family lived in Hoquiam for the first few months of his life then later moved back to Aberdeen, where he had a happy childhood until his parents divorced. The divorce left Kurt's outlook on the world forever scarred. He became withdrawn and anti-social. He was constantly placed with one relative to the next, living with friends, and at times even homeless. Kurt was not the most popular person in high school as he was in public school. In 1985 Kurt left Aberdeen for Olympia where he formed the band Nirvana in 1986. In 1989 Nirvana recorded their debut album Bleach under the independent label Sub-Pop records. Nirvana became very popular in Britain and by 1991 they signed a contract with Geffen. Their next album Nevermind became a 90s masterpiece and made Kurt's Nirvana one of the most successful bands in the world. Kurt became trampled upon with success and found the new lifestyle hard to bear. In February 1992 Kurt married Courtney Love, the woman who was already pregnant with his child, Frances Bean Cobain. Nirvana released their next album Incesticide later that year. The album appealed to many fans due to the liner notes, which expressed Kurt's open-mindedness. In September 1993 Nirvana released their next album, 'In Utero', which topped the charts. On March 4, 1994, Kurt was taken to hospital in a coma. It was officially stated as an accident but many believe it to have been an unsuccessful suicide attempt. Family and friends convinced Kurt to seek rehab. Kurt was said to have fled rehab after only a few days from a missing person's report filed by Courtney Love. On April 8th Kurt's body was found in his Seattle home. In his arms was a shotgun, which had been fired into his head. Near him laid a suicide note written in red ink. It was addressed to his wife Courtney Love and his daughter Frances Bean Cobain. Two days after Kurt's body was discovered people gathered in Seattle, they began setting fires, chanting profanities, and fighting with police officers. They also listened to a tape of Courtney reading sections of the suicide note left by Kurt. The last few words were "I love you, I love you".- Actress

Sophie Kennedy Clark was born in Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, UK. She is known for Nymphomaniac: Vol. I (2013), Philomena (2013) and Sorority (2022).- Scottish-born actor James Donald was born in Aberdeen on May 18, 1917, and took his first professional stage bow some time in the late 30s. He finally attained a degree of stardom in 1943 for his sterling performance in Noël Coward's "Present Laughter", which starred Coward himself. Subsequent post-war theatre work included "The Eagle with Two Heads" (1947), "You Never Can Tell" (1948) and "The Heiress" (1949) with Ralph Richardson, Peggy Ashcroft and Donald Sinden.
Rather humorless in character with a gaunt, intent-looking face and no-nonsense demeanor, James made his debut in British films in 1942, fitting quite comfortably into the stoic war-era mold with roles in such noteworthy military sagas as In Which We Serve (1942) and The Way Ahead (1944). Ably supporting such top-notch actors as Spencer Tracy and Deborah Kerr in Edward, My Son (1949) and Elizabeth Taylor and Stewart Granger in Beau Brummell (1954), he also managed to head up a number of films including White Corridors (1951) in which he and Googie Withers play husband and wife doctors who try to balance career and marriage; Charles Dickens' The Pickwick Papers (1952) as "Nathaniel Winkle", and Project M7 (1953) as a scientist obsessed with his work. In addition, he earned superb marks for a number of quality films in the 1950s and 1960s. His portrayal of painter 'Vincent Van Gogh''s brother "Theo" in Lust for Life (1956) with Kirk Douglas, was quite memorable, as was his trenchant work in the WWII POW dramas The Bridge on the River Kwai (1957), The Great Escape (1963), and King Rat (1965). Most of the men he played were intelligent, moral-minded and honorable. While continuing to perform on stage, he also gained TV exposure. James received an Emmy nomination for his role as "Prince Albert" opposite Julie Harris in Victoria Regina (1961), and performed the part of the cruel-eyed stepfather "Mr. Murdstone" in the period remake of David Copperfield (1970) toward the end of his career. Off the screen for a number of years, he died of stomach cancer on August 3, 1993 in England. He was 76. - Additional Crew
